Your findings, inside YouTube Studio. You still click Save.
Available for Chrome; Edge coming soon.
Every other tool in this category asks for write access to your channel so it can edit descriptions for you. We won't — read-only access is the whole point of Channel Workbench. Fix Assist closes the gap: it brings your fix queue into YouTube Studio's edit page, highlights the exact links that are costing you money, and preps the corrected text for your review. The only thing that ever saves a change to your channel is you, clicking YouTube's own Save button.
How it works
- 1 Open a video in Studio From the fix queue's "YT Studio" button or on your own. Fix Assist recognizes the edit page and shows that video's open findings in a small panel — with a badge count on the toolbar icon.
- 2 See exactly what's broken The bad links are highlighted right inside the description editor. Each finding card shows the issue, the evidence, and — wherever we can compute one — a ready replacement URL.
- 3 Review the exact edit A before/after preview shows precisely which characters will change and how many places. One click preps the edit in the editor — or copy the corrected link and paste it yourself. Ctrl+Z works either way.
- 4 You click Save Fix Assist never presses buttons in Studio and never holds a write permission to your channel. Mark the finding fixed and the next scan verifies it.
Built-in guardrails
"Helps you edit" only earns trust if it can't surprise you. Fix Assist's prep step is a surgical replace: it swaps only the exact matched bad URLs and touches nothing else — not your wording, not your formatting, not your other links. If your description has changed since your last scan, prep disables itself and falls back to copy-and-paste with a rescan hint, so it never edits against stale information. And if anything unexpected happens, the extension's rule is to render nothing rather than interfere with Studio.
Smart replacement suggestions
For a missing Amazon tag=, the replacement is computed exactly — your same
URL with your Associates tag restored. For dead shortlinks and stale redirects, we offer
the resolved destination, cleaned up and re-tagged. And if you've connected your Amazon
Creators API credentials, Fix Assist can check whether an out-of-stock product came back,
and search for in-stock alternatives — each suggestion arriving as a ready-made link
carrying your own Associates tag, built from official Amazon catalog data. Every
suggestion is labeled advisory: you review, you choose, you save.
What Fix Assist never does
- Never clicks Save — no DOM automation, no simulated clicks, no background edits. The plan calls this the assistance ladder, and we deliberately stopped a rung below automation.
- Never asks for YouTube write access — your OAuth grant stays read-only. The extension works entirely in your browser, on pages you already have open, with your existing Channel Workbench session.
- Never scrapes anything — Amazon data comes from the official Creators API with your own credentials, or it doesn't come at all.
